Second-source confirmation

Second-source confirmation: Second-source confirmation is DDSIntel’s rule that a transition signal counts only after a second, independent record confirms it.

Second-source confirmation is DDSIntel’s rule that a transition signal counts only after a second, independent record confirms it.

The rule protects against the weaknesses of single sources: provider-registry data is self-reported and lags, and license records can carry mailing addresses rather than practice addresses. Confirmation is what turns a raw record into an observed signal.
