The LEIE (List of Excluded Individuals and Entities) is the HHS Office of Inspector General’s list of individuals and entities excluded from participation in federal health care programs.
OIG publishes LEIE updates monthly. A match against a practice’s dentists or entity is a compliance signal. Exclusion screening is also a standard step in buyer due diligence and lender review, because an excluded provider affects a practice’s ability to bill federal programs such as Medicaid.
