Independent practice
Independent practice: An independent practice, in DDSIntel data, is any practice location not counted as DSO-affiliated.
An independent practice, in DDSIntel data, is any practice location not counted as DSO-affiliated.
The definition is residual by design: a location is independent unless public filings or permitted licensed data link it to a DSO. Because DSO affiliation is a floor, some locations counted as independent may in fact be affiliated through unfiled agreements. Independent locations include solo and group practices.
