How can practice owners control their DDSIntel record?

Owners can claim their DDSIntel record to see it, correct it and decide whether anyone may contact them about succession, and public pages never name a dentist, an NPI, an address or a practice. With 205,088 professionally active U.S. dentists in 2025 (ADA Health Policy Institute), the practice lifecycle is a live question for many owners.

Key numbers

What can an owner do with a claimed record?

A claimed record lets an owner see what DDSIntel holds, correct errors, choose whether anyone may contact them about succession, and turn that choice off at any time. The owners page describes the current steps. Consent is always the owner’s own choice and is kept apart from observed public-record signals.

What is in the record?

Observed signals from public records, with their source dates, plus anything the owner chooses to add. An observed signal is confirmed by a second source and implies no intent by the owner, and a consented signal is the owner’s own choice to be open to succession conversations. The two are never mixed.

Why would an owner claim a record?

Owners may want accuracy, control over who contacts them, or a way to signal openness to succession conversations without a public listing. Claiming is optional and does not commit an owner to anything. Succession planning covers what a plan involves, and what public records show lists the sources.

Does DDSIntel publish my practice or my age?

No. Public pages show aggregates only and never name a dentist, an NPI, an address or a practice, and individual ages are never shown or used in member scores. The methodology describes the sources and how small counts are suppressed, and dental transition signals explains what is measured.
